Ice Fishing in Northern Manitoba

Pike – Walleye – Sauger – Lake Trout – Rainbow and Brook Trout – Burbot

Got Ice?

If you like ice fishing, then you will love Northern Manitoba as we have a very long ice fishing season. Ice is usually safe for fishing by mid November, and continues on until May 1. First ice, late ice, and mid winter fishing up here totals over 5 months! Some areas wonder if they will get any safe ice, but that is no worry up here! One thing is certain, we will get ice, and lots of it!

Ice Fishing, Outfitting, Guiding

Northern Manitoba is known for its long winters, making this an ice fishing paradise. Imagine – Big Fish, Numbers of Fish, Multi- Species and Remoteness wrapped up in a breathtaking view.

Multi-Species Mecca

Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Sauger, Burbot, Yellow Perch, Whitefish, Tulibee, Rainbow Trout And Brook Trout.

This is Canada’s multi-species ice fishing destination! Imagine shallow pike on tip-ups, deep jigging for lake trout, dead sticking for walleye, or night fishing for eelpout. These are just a few options for the avid ice angler. There is also an element of species surprise when you set the hook…..cause you just never know!

Giant Walleye, Enormous Pike, Massive Lake Trout and Bullish Burbot

We are a trophy fisherman’s adventure. Everyone has heard of the Greenback Walleye, but did you know our ‘Golden Walleye” get just as big! Not only do we have giant walleye, but mix in girthy pike pushing 50”, Lake Trout tough to fit through a 10” hole, and Burbot longer than your leg, makes this a Trophy Fishing Paradise. The optional species also grow huge here too. There are big fish around every corner!

Baked or Fried?

A big issue with winter fishing is when and where do you clean your fish? Well that is no longer an issue, with a heated fish cleaning shack back at the lodge. Put your fish inside the shack to thaw and clean them after you relax a while, or take them directly in and get right at it. LED lights, cup holders, water, and clean and tidy surface makes this job a little more enjoyable. The quicker you clean them, the quicker you get to eat them!
